【I Wanna Read】
A sharing session where creative individuals from different media become the spokespersons for books that influenced them. They will share how these books shaped their creative minds and values, which are shown in their creative works.
We invited Peter Benz - Designer/Teacher (He also holds a Degree of Architecture), to share 3 books that had a profound impact on his adolescence, how they shaped his moral system, and how they gave him means to move on through turmoils of life.
|| About Peter Benz || Peter was born in Austria, grew up in Greece, studied in Germany and eventually settled in Hong Kong. As a teenager He wanted to become a scientist, but after high school decided to be a film director instead; in the end he completed a degree in Architecture, which until today he considers a lucky turn, despite he never wanted to be an architect. He considers himself a designer, though effectively he is probably a teacher. Ever since he could read, he read… a lot.
Books have been with him always and at least some of them have had long effects on who he has become.

Prince Valiant - Hal Foster 1937–
Prince Valiant in the Days of King Arthur, or simply Prince Valiant, is an American comic strip created by Hal Foster in 1937. It tells the epic adventures of Prince Valiant as he grows from young reckless teenager to a knight of the round table. The strip continues to published weekly up until today.
Leonie and Lena - Georg Büchner 1836
Leonce and Lena (German: Leonce und Lena) is a play by Georg Büchner (1813–1837) which is considered a comedy, but is actually a satire veiled in humor. It was written in the spring of 1836 for a competition 'for the best one- or two-act comedy in prose or verse'. However, Büchner missed the submission deadline and the play was returned to him unread. Leonce and Lena is one of the six most important classic comedies in German language.
The Myth of Sisyphus - Albert Camus 1942
The Myth of Sisyphus (French: Le Mythe de Sisyphe) is a philosophical essay in which Camus introduces his philosophy of the absurd, man's futile search for meaning, unity, and clarity in the face of an unintelligible world devoid of God and eternal truths or values.
