https://applepaycasinosite.com is where I usually go for a quick diversion, but this post about the poetry gathering made me appreciate the slower kind of escape—sitting with friends, a glass of wine, and a journal in hand. The detail about having snacks and drinks to ease the talk sounds like a perfect way to get people to open up about their favorite lines. I've never been to a poetry meetup, but I imagine the best moments come from those unplanned digressions when someone reads a verse and the whole room goes quiet.
