Timestamp: the practice of ungroundedness

B-complex collective project showcase

‘Timestamp: The Practice of Ungroundedness’ is the first collective project of B-Complex to kickstart the ‘Timestamp’ series, an ongoing process of stamping more practice in the timeline of our daily life.

7 members of B-Complex collectively jump at exactly 9 PM HKT, individual routines are momentarily suspended: We share the split seconds off the ground; share a collective presence, share the inconveniences brought by this disruption; also share the reminder of practice transcending the boundaries of daily life.

The effortlessness of jumping sets up the framework for daily ‘practice’, would this seemingly meaningless act be transformed by repetition? This simplest idea was put to test in the past 31 days, with each ringing alarm, we get back to practice, knowing we’ll be in the air together. We ponder through this timestamp what repetition, daily practice, collectivity means to us.

Venue: ACO BOOKS

Opening & Open Studio: 12/4/2025 (Sat) 3 - 7 PM, B-complex, 11/F, Foo tak Building

That's a lovely reflection on collective experience and shared practice. I appreciate the idea of transcending boundaries through repetition. However, I wonder if focusing solely on the "effortlessness" might overlook the potential for genuine individual growth and engagement outside the group. Could such rigid adherence, perhaps unintentionally, stifle independent exploration and critical thinking, perhaps leading to...bad parenting ?
