with a collection of over 3,000 books from Twilight Books Company (the first generation of “upstair bookstore” operated by Mr Ma Kwok Ming from 1984 to 2006), the walls of aco_books (located at 1/F, Foo Tak Building) are filled up with thematic bookshelves: arts, literature, philosophy, anthropology, science, religion, psychology, social sciences and history.

we hope to seek a permanent home for each Twilight book, to do this, every book is marked down largely of it’s original price, so that book lovers could affordably bring their beloved books home.

new books will arrive regularly and artistic happenings will take place at this gathering place, stay tune.
and if you are not able to find the books your are longing for, now we accept readers’ order of any specific english books, old and new. do ask us for a quote!

由八十年代開始營運的曙光圖書於2006年結業。自始我們一直深感本地缺失了一處讓愛書人聚首的根據地。艺鵠有幸得到達微慈善基金的大力支持﹐讓我們得以在灣仔富德樓1樓開拓業務。我們將利用這個小小的空間﹐廉售曙光餘下逾3000本英文書藉。書籍種類豐富而多元﹐包括:藝術、文學、哲學、人類學、科學、宗教、心理學、社會科學及歴史等

Evans Chan|陳耀成
a Hong Kong Second Wave film director and a cultural critique. His film work usually focuses on exploring identities of Hong Kong people, such as To Liv(e) (1992), Crossings (1994) and The Map of Sex and Love (2001).

陳耀成生於廣東南海, 成長於澳門及香港,在紐約社會研究新院大學 (New School for Social Research) 得哲學碩士,曾導演四部劇情長片《浮世戀曲》、《錯愛》、《情色地圖》及《紫荊》;五部記錄片:《北征》、《澳門二千》、《吳仲賢的故事》、《靈琴新韻》及《獨行琴》。

電影之外,陳耀成同時以中英文發表評論。他的評論集《最後之中國人》得2000年香港文學雙年展的評論組最佳書獎。他為台灣麥田出版社編譯的兩本蘇珊‧柔塔格(Susan Sontaga)文集:《文選》及《旁觀他人的痛苦》連續獲台灣《聯合報》列為全年十大非小說好書之列。他以英語改編的張愛玲小說《赤地之戀》的舞台劇Naked Earth曾於2000年百老匯外圍的Bank Street Theatre公演。他將應蘇格蘭愛丁堡大學出版社(Edinburgh University Press)電影研究系列之邀,以英語撰寫一部《三地華語電影簡史》(Chinese Cinema(s))。

Mary Chan|陳麗珊
found MCCM Creations, a home-grown small press at the wrong time and in the wrong place.  Unbelievably, it still survives after running for 8 years. Mary had a great merry-go-round across magazine publishing, art and culture, advertising, pharmaceutical marketing and management consulting fields respectively since 1984, but never ever thought of reconnecting with art, design and culture in book publishing. Mary also stationed and worked in Mainland China for 7 years between 1990 and 1999.

陳麗珊於2001年創辦MCCM Creations﹐一所獨立經營的出版社﹐主攻藝術、設計、文化類書籍出版。在此之前曾從事各行各業包括雜誌出版、文化藝術發展、廣告、藥業、管理顧問等等。1990 - 1999年間曾往大陸發展。

Helen Grace|葛海崙
is Director of the MA Programme in Visual Culture Studies in the Department of Cultural & Religious Studies, Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a photographer, filmmaker and new media producer and has written widely on art, cinema and culture.

葛海崙現為中文大學文化及宗教研究系視覺研究文學碩士課程主任。她也是一位攝影師、製片人、新媒體藝術家。文章多及藝術、電影、文化。

Yuk Hui|許煜
is currently the phd researcher of the metadata project in centre for cultural studies, goldsmiths college, university of london. He was trained in both computer science and cultural studies. his research centers in philosophy of technology and media. He is also the regular contributor of the Chinese newsweekly Yazhou Zhoukan and CUP magazine.

許煜,現為倫敦大學goldsmiths college文化研究中心博士研究員,他的研究以科技及媒體哲學為主。他也定期為《亞洲週刊》及《CUP》撰稿,出版有《互聯網罪與罰》(許煜、劉細良 CUP 2005)。

Perry Lam|林沛理
is Muse’s editorial director. He is also an adjunct professor at Syracuse University, teaching a course on Asian cinema for its Hong Kong Center. He writes a regular column for the Chinese newsweekly Yazhou Zhoukan and Hong Kong Economic Journal. His latest book Everything You Need To Know To Say No is published by Sub-Culture Limited.

林沛理,《》(Muse)雜誌主編,美國紐約Syracuse University香港中心客座教授,評論主要發表於《亞洲週刊》、《信報》及《南方都市報》。著有評論集《影像的邏輯與思維——從張國榮的生與死到張藝謀的真與假》、《香港,你還剩下多少——香港例外主義之死》及《能說「不」的秘密》(次文化堂出版)。 

Kwok Ming Ma|馬國明
ran Twilight Books Company, an upstairs bookstore, for 22 years. Now a visiting lecturer of the Program of Master of Cultural Studies, Lingnan University as well as chief editor of Culturalstudies@lingnan, an online magazine. Wrote a couple of books, all in Chinese.

馬國明,經營樓上書屋曙光圖書公司22年,現為嶺南大學文化研究碩士學位課程兼任講師,同時擔任網上雜誌《文化研究@嶺南》總編輯。著有《班雅明》、《路邊政治經濟學》、《全面都市化社會》等。

King Chung Siu|蕭競聰
teaches in the School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and runs the BA (Hons) Art and Design in Education Programme there. He is an art & design commentator, an installation artist, an independent curator and is actively involved in arts policy and art/design curriculum development in Hong Kong.

蕭競聰現任香港理工大學設計系助理教授,亦是該系「美術及設計教育課程」主任。他近年積極參與香港藝術政策發展及美術設計課程發展等工作,曾任香港美術教育協會會長 (1998-2001)。蕭氏還從事裝置藝術創作、展覽策劃、藝術、設計及教育評論;為裝置藝術組織「八人入乂」之創會成員。他曾參與錄像製作,並進行不同媒體的創作實驗和展覽策劃,作品曾於本地及外地多次展出。2002年,他與友人成立「唔知做乜嘅設計聯想會」和「民間博物館計劃」。

Yang Yeung|楊陽
works in the fields of education, art, cultural work, and the media. She was trained in anthropology and cultural studies, and has years of teaching and course development experience. She works as a writer and independent curator of such exhibitions as “in midair, sound works hong kong 2007”, and “Art Responds to 14QK”. She is currently Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies, Chinese University of Hong Kong. She recently founded soundpocket to promote sound art and cultures of listening in Hong Kong.

楊陽從事教育, 文字, 藝術, 及文化工作, 現任職中文大學文化研究系, 並為獨立策展人, 近期成立聲音藝術組織 soundpocket, 推動聆聽文化和聲音藝術。
